The Great Himalayan Trail (GHT) is an ambitious trek that spans across the entire length of Nepal, traversing through the heart of the Himalayas. This 118-day trek is one of the most demanding in the world, offering adventurers a chance to explore the diverse landscapes, cultures, and ecosystems of Nepal. From high mountain passes to remote villages, the GHT is a journey of endurance, resilience, and awe-inspiring beauty.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Our team member will be there to pick you up at Tribhuvan international airport and escort you to your accommodation on the very first day. In the remaining time, you can stroll around the streets of Basantapur, Thamel, and some other places. You will be provided with the best hospitality along with a delicious Nepali cuisine dinner. You will be staying overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Fly Kathmandu- Bhadrapur, 2420m- Drive Illam, 3,636m, 5 hours

After a delightful breakfast, we will be heading to catch our flight for Bhadrapur. It would take us approximately 50 minutes to reach Bhadrapur. Before we land, we will certainly be wonder struck by the gorgeous scenarios of the entire Himalayas extending from Kanchenjunga to Langtang. After our landing in Bhadrapur, we will observe the beautiful formations of the landscapes in Terai. Then, in our private vehicle, we will be driving to Illam which is largely covered with tea bushes as it is famous for tea production. We will spend a warm night at Illam before we begin our next adventurous day.

Day 03: Illam – Taplejung, 1820m, 4-5 hours

After our early morning breakfast, we head towards Taplejung in a private vehicle. Taplejung is famous for its biodiversity. So you will clearly find yourself among the naturally rich environment. It is a getaway to the beautiful Kanchenjunga region. You can take short walks around some places in Taplejung for further exploration. We will be spending our fourth night in Taplejung.

Day 04: Taplejung - Mitlung, 4 hours

The third day of this trip would be the official beginning of our long walk. We head to Mitlung after a refreshing breakfast at Taplejung. Since we will be trekking through the Lower sections of the region, we will be passing through the fertile lands where different crops and green vegetables are grown. It would take us approximately four hours of walk to reach Mitlung. In the descent, we are likely to be challenged with muddy trails before we arrive at Mitlung. We will be camping at Mitlung for our overnight stay.

Day 05: Mitlung - Chiruwa, 1270m, 6-7 hours

Chiruwa would be our destination for the sixth day. We leave Mitlung after having an energizing breakfast. With various ups and downs, it would take us about six to seven hours to reach Chiruwa. In the first four hours, we will be faced with lots of ascents and descents while making our way through Tamor Khola and Nagadin which is known for being the place of origination of Kirati warriors. Our final ascent leads us to Chiruwa which is indeed a beautiful village. We will be camping for the night here at Chiruwa.

Day 06: Chiruwa - Sukathum, 1576m, 6 hours

After a wonderful breakfast at Chiruwa, we begin moving towards Sukathum which is likely to take us about six hours of walk. We will be passing through incredible dense forests and various wonderful landscapes before we reach Sukathum. This area leading to Sukathum often gets affected by landslides because of which we need to be prepared to take an alternative way. We will make sure about the situation by checking in with the national park check post. However, we will again revive with energy as soon as we reach Sukathum and have a warm dinner. We will be staying at Sukathum for the night.

Day 07: Sukathum - Amjilosa, 2308m, 6 hours

With an energizing early morning breakfast, we leave Sukathum for Amjilosa. It is likely to take us about six hours to reach our destination and the day can be comparatively challenging. We will be going through dense forests and deep gorges. The scenarios of huge waterfalls will certainly make your tiredness vanish into thin air. The extraordinary sound of the flowing river will blur all the challenges we faced. However, one definitely needs to be careful on this trek. We will be ending our trek for the day as soon as we reach Amjilosa. We will spend our night at Amjilosa.

Day 08: Amjilosa - Kyapra, 2730m, 6 hours

On our seventh day of the Great Himalayan Trail Trek, we will be heading towards Kyapra. After having our breakfast, we will be leaving Asmjilosa followed by six hours long walk. We will be facing dense and dark forests on our way down to Ghunsa Khola at Thyanyani. Today, there won’t be many ups and downs through the trails and comparatively, we will be more at ease than the other days. Some paths can be slippery, so one needs to be careful with their step. However, after a long walk, we will find ourselves in the outskirts of Kyapra. We will be staying overnight here at Kyapra.

Day 09: Kyapra - Ghunsa, 3595m, 6 hours

On the seventh day, we will be leaving Kyapra after a warm breakfast. Ghunsa will be our destination for the day. On our way to Ghunsa, we will be surrounded with Rhododendrons and azaleas which will make this day even more exciting. A village of Tibetan refugee settlement known as Phale falls on our way to Ghunsa. Here, we will find various local handmade goods which will surely uplift some of our energy. Then we will be moving through beautiful trails formed of pine and coniferous trees leading to Ghunsa. Ghunsa will be our final destinations. We will be staying overnight here at Ghunsa.

Day 10: Rest at Ghunsa

Finally, here comes a day for rest. After continuous trekking for days, without taking a proper break, one will certainly need some time to rest. So today, we will rest for reviving the energy in us and acclimatizing ourselves. Ghunsa is a wonderful place to explore. So you can certainly spend the day by taking short walks around the wonders of Ghunsa. We will stay here overnight.

Day 11: Ghunsa - Kangbachen, 4050m, 6-7 hours

We will be leaving Ghunsa after having our early morning breakfast. We will be heading for Kangbachen through one of the most beautiful trails in the region. We will be welcomed with wildflowers all throughout the trail with some hints of snow. The paths will provide us with astounding mountain scenarios and glorious rhododendrons flowers blooming all along the way through the forest. It will certainly be one of the most memorable days for you. Similarly, after a short descent, we will finally reach Kangbachen where we will be staying for the night.

Day 12: Kangpachen – Lhonak, 4780m, 6-7 hours

After having an amazing breakfast at Khangbachen, we will be heading towards Lhonak very early in the morning. This day can prove to be one of the challenging ones taking us about six to seven hours to reach our destination. We will be spending a warm night at Lhonak before heading for our next destination.

Day 13: Lhonak - Kanchenjunga base camp, 5143m, 7 hours

Finally, on the eleventh day of our trip, we head towards Kanchenjunga base camp from Lhonak. This day will certainly fill us with joy and wonders as magnificent mountain scenarios surround us. We will be walking for about seven hours before we reach the base camp. You can choose to use sidewalks in the area if you wish to. It would be a little challenging climb for about two hours before we face a steep section filled with loosely held rocks. However, the moment we reach the Kanchenjunga base camp, all our tiredness will be washed away with the glorious views of the Himalayas and a breath of fresh mountain air. We will be camping for our overnight stay around the base camp.

Day 14: Retreat to Ghunsa

After experiencing the incredible existence of the Kanchenjunga base camp, we head back to Ghunsa. The beautiful village of Ghunsa will probably uplift our energy and mood with its pure authentic existence and the amazing views of Yak caravans. From Ghunsa, we will be linking another trek included in the Great Himalayan trail traverse.

Day 15: Rest at Ghunsa, 5.5 hours

On the thirteen-day, we will take a rest at Ghunsa. It will be the perfect day for you to explore this wondrous village of Taplejung through short walks around the beauty. You can seize the opportunity to explore more of Sherpa culture and its lifestyles.

Day 16: Ghunsa - Nango la Camp, 4776m, 5 hours

After a peaceful overnight stay at Ghunsa, we will be enjoying a warm breakfast made of local ingredients. Then we will be heading for Nango la Camp. Around five hours of the walk will take us to our destination. We will be descending down the main trial before we meet a junction. We will reach Ghunsa Khola along the way. Similarly, the path will be followed by an ascend leading to a course of grazing pastures. There we will be camping for our overnight stay.

Day 17: Nango la Camp - Yangma Kola, 3440m, 5 hours

After an energizing breakfast at Nango La camp, we make our way towards Yangma Kola which is our camping destination for the day. We will get extraordinary views while crossing Nango la if we reach there early enough. After crossing Nango La, we descend to a beautiful valley that is shaped like a bowl. Then the path is followed by thick forests leading our way to Yangma Kola. We will camp at Yangma Kola for the night.

Day 18: Yangma Kola - Olangchun Gola, 3191m, 8 hours

On our sixteen days, we leave Yangma Kola for Olangchun Gola. It is likely to take us about eight hours to reach there, so we will comparatively have less time to explore it. Olangchun Gola is known for being a trading point between Nepal and Tibet. We will be camping at Olangchun Gola for our overnight stay.

Day 19: Rest day at Olangchun Gola

On our sixteen days, we leave Yangma Kola for Olangchun Gola. It is likely to take us about eight hours to reach there, so we will comparatively have less time to explore it. Olangchun Gola is known for being a trading point between Nepal and Tibet. We will be camping at Olangchun Gola for our overnight stay.

Day 20: Olangchung Gola – Upper Langmale, 3893m, 7 hours

After resting at Olangchun Gola, we conclude our stay there with a refreshing breakfast. Then we head for Upper Langmale where we will be camping for the night. This day is filled with walks in the wilderness. We will be surrounded by forests decorated with pine and rhododendrons. We will get to observe various piled-up stones acting like signboards. Upper Langmale will be our final destination for the day.

Day 21: Upper Langmale – Pass camp, 4747m, 6 hours

We will be leaving upper Langmale after having a wonderful breakfast. It is likely to take us about six hours to reach Pass camp. On the way, we will be accompanied by dense rhododendron forests as we walk alongside the Tamor River. We will be camping at pass camp for our overnight stay.

Day 22: Pass camp - Chaurikharka, 4595m

On the twentieth day of our trek, we will be heading towards Chaurikharka. It will be one of the most challenging days of the trek. We will be passing through the Lumba Sumba peak standing proudly at an altitude of 5200m. Then we will be faced with lots of ups and downs along the way. After ascending the Lumba Sumba peak, we descend down to Chaurikharka where we will be camping for our overnight stay.

Day 23: Chaurikharka - Thudam, 3500m, 7 hours

We head for Thudam after having our breakfast at Chaurikharka. The trek descends from Chaurikharka extending the path to a more civilized area. After about three hours of walking, we will be faced with two paths. One will lead us to Lyasha in Tibet and the other to Thudam. We head towards Thudam which will be our final destination for the day. It is likely to take us about seven hours to reach there. We will be spending our night here at Thudam.

Day 24: Thudam - kharka, 2877m, 6 hours

On the twenty-two day of this trek, we will be moving towards Kharka from Thudam. The trail will take us alongside the banks of Chujung Khola. We will be provided with astounding views of the Makalu Mountain Range. We will be passing through the habitats of some endangered species like the red panda and if we are fortunate enough, we will get to observe them up close. It will take us about six hours to reach Kharka where we will be camping for the night.

Day 25: Kharka - Chyamtang, 2229m, 5-6 hours

Our path extends from Kharka to Chyamtang on our twenty-sixth day of this trek. We will be passing through dense forests decorated with rhododendrons. A lot of ups and downs will come along the way. We reach Chyamtang after crossing a suspension bridge over the Arun river followed by an ascend lasting for about an hour. It is likely to take us about seven hours to finally reach our camping site. We will be camping for our overnight stay at Chyamtang.

Day 26: Chyamtang – Lomi village

On the twenty-third day, we will be heading for Lomi village. After a warming breakfast at Chyamtang, we will make our way towards the trails leading to Lomi where we will be camping for the night. After crossing a minor pass, we will be descending downhill. Then we will finally be crossing Arun river and reach to the beautiful Village of Lomi.

Day 27: Lomi - Hongon, 2323m, 6-7 hours

After a delightful stay at the incredible Lomi village, we head for Hongon. We will finally be leaving the Kanchenjunga region. It won’t be a tough walk to Hongon but however, it is likely to take us six to seven hours of walk to the destination. We will stay in Hongon for the night.

Day 28: Hongon- Bakim Kharka/ High Camp , 3020m, 6 hours

On the twenty-fifth day, we will be reaching for High Camp which is likely to take us almost about six hours of walk. This day can prove to be a little challenging as the trail extends to some steep ridge climbs. We will be crossing a minor pass of an altitude 2710meters. We will be camping for the night at High Camp.

Day 29: High camp- Molun Pokhari, 3954m

We will be heading for Molun Pokhari from High Camp on our thirtieth day of this trek. We will be faced with rocky trails along our way through the forest and on the way out as well. After crossing the forest area, we can see the spectacular view of the Arun River. The trails will lead us to the majestic Molun Pokhari Lake. On our way to Molun Pokhari, we will get to observe many chortens formed by the locals. However, we might not be able to camp around the lake as it is favorable. So we will be heading towards a nearby valley and form our camp there.

Day 30: Molun Pokhari- Dhunge Kharka, 2980m, 5 hours

After early morning breakfast, we will be moving towards Dhunge Kharkha. Though it is not situated at a very high altitude, we will still have to ascend uphill through a narrow trail for quite some time until we reach a rigid. Then we will be heading towards the southeast and climbing until we cross the pass at an altitude of 4200m. Similarly, we finally begin descending down to a lake near a stream. We will then cross the Dhunge Khola and form a camp nearby.

Day 31: Dhunge Kharka- Khola Kharka, 7 hours

On our thirty-eighth day, we will be moving to Khola Kharka from Dhunge Kharka. We will be camping nearby Khola Kharka for our overnight stay before we head for Cave camp.

Day 32: Khola Kharka- Cave Camp, 3900m, 7 hours

We will be leaving Khola Kharkha early in the morning after a delightful breakfast. Our destination for the day is Cave camp. The trail we will be following is filled with the beauty of the wilderness. The trails to Cave camp will take you through narrow paths along with the dense forests and river banks. We will be establishing our camp for the night here at Cave Camp.

Day 33: Cave camp- Kalo Pokhari, 4100m, 6 hours

On our thirth day of the trip, we will head towards Kalo Pokhari from the Cave camp. Kalo Pokhari is very famous in the region especially due to its water which appears to be black. We will face lots of uphill and downhill before reaching an incredible destination. We will be settling our camp around Kalo Pokhari.

Day 34: Kalo pokhari- Grazing Kharka, 3960m

On the thirty-first day of our trek, we extend our steps towards Grazing Kharka from Kalo Pokhari. We will be reaching the valley after facing many challenges of steep downhill and tiring climbs. We will settle our camp in the famous campsite of the region known as Kharka. We will be staying here overnight.

Day 35: Grazing Kharka- Yangla Kharka, 3557m, 7 hours

We will be moving towards Yangla Kharka from Grazing kharkha through the trails composed of dense forests and beautifully flowing streams. The trails decorated with greenery lead us through Barun Khola to Yangla Kharka. We will be spending our night here at Yamla Kharka.

Day 36: Yangla Kharka- Langmale Kharka, 4400m, 5 hours

We will be heading for Langmale Kharka on our thirty-seventh day of this trek. The trail to Langmale Kharka welcomes us with beautiful scenarios of yak caravans. It will take us about five hours to reach the destination. We will be camping at Langmale Kharka for our overnight stay.

Day 37: Rest day for acclimatization

Since we will be facing an extreme change in altitude with the increase in elevation, we need proper rest for acclimatization. However, on this day, we can seize the opportunity to explore various Sherpa villages and closely observe their culture. We can certainly enjoy watching the peaceful views of yaks grazing.

Day 38: Langmale Kharka- Makalu Base Camp, 4870m

With proper rest and acclimatization, we will finally be heading towards Makalu Base camp. Makalu Base camp provides us with extraordinary views of Everest, Lhotse, Baruntse, and Mt. Makalu itself. It can prove to be a little challenging with changing altitude but it will be equally worth it as we reach the base camp.

Day 39: Rest day for acclimatization

With the upcoming extreme change in the elevation, we will certainly need time for acclimatization. So the fortieth day has been separated for that purpose. We will be staying at our camp around the outskirts of Makalu Base camp.

Day 40: Makalu Base camp- Swiss Base Camp, 5150m, 5-6 hours

Today, we will be reaching to Swiss Base camp which will approximately take us about five to six hours. The trails leading to the different halves of Swiss Base camp can be a little complex as one needs to hop from one huge rock (boulders) to another. We will be camping very close to the 8000 meters giant which provides one with an extreme feeling of adventure. We will be staying overnight here at Swiss Base Camp.

Day 41: Rest day for acclimatization

Before moving ahead towards an altitude of 5700m, we will need proper rest and time for acclimatization. In order to avoid any kind of altitude sickness, acclimatization is essential. So we separate this day to get both physically and mentally prepared for the upcoming elevation.

Day 42: Swiss Base Camp - Sherpani Col Base Camp, 5700m, 6-7 hours

On our forty-nine days, we will be moving towards Sherpani Col Base Camp. As the trail further extends towards the valley, Barun and Makalu Glaciers stay on the right side of the trail. There will be a lot of Boulder hopping along the trail which can make it a little more challenging. It begins as an easy trek but as it continues, it is hard to find any trails rather just loosely placed huge rocks called boulders. Similarly, we will get to see the magnificent sight of Everest and Lhotse at the end of the valley. We will be staying overnight at Sherpani Col Base Camp.

Day 43: Sherpani Col - Baruntse High Camp, 6100m, 6-7 hours

Today, we will be moving forward to reach Baruntse High Camp. This trek can prove to be one of the most challenging ones among the entire trek we committed before. We will again be facing some boulders on the way and the trail will be leading us to the glacier through a climb. We will be faced with a high wall at the end of the valley. We will have to cross the high wall and reach the bottom of it which will take us about four hours. Then it is followed by another one-hour climb to the top of East Col. The whole trek should be carried out with care and caution as the path is very tricky. After a short climb of the glacier, we will reach Baruntse place but this is not the end. We will have to get to the other side of the plateau and again walk for about three hours to finally get to Baruntse High Camp where we will be staying overnight.

Day 44: Baruntse High Camp - Honku Basin, 4-5 hours

On the forty-one day, we extend our trek towards Honku Basin. We will make our way there by crossing the West Col which stands at an altitude of 6143 meters. Soon after, we will be descending down to the Honku valley located nearby the five glacial lakes known as Panch Pokhari. We will camp for the night at a suitable place around the valley

Day 45: Hinku Basin– Amphu Labsta Base, 5400m, 5 hours

Our trek begins its course early in the morning after we sufficiently have our breakfast. Then we will be heading for Amphu Labasta Base situated at the height of 5400m. We will find Amphu Labasta Base situated at the bottom of the ridge between two valleys known as Honku and Imja. We will be seeing some incredible sights of different peaks, one of which is Ama Dablam. Our camp will be set up in a favorable area where we will be staying for the night.

Day 46: Rest day at Amphu Labtsa

Before heading for another long walk to Chukung, we separate some time for rest. So we will be staying at our camp in Amphu Labtsa for another night as well.

Day 47: Amphu Labsta– Chukung, 4730m, 10-12 hours

After getting enough rest at Amphu Labsta and a heartwarming breakfast, we move towards Chukung. It will approximately take us about ten to twelve hours to complete the trek of the day. We will be passing through various snow-covered slopes where we will be using ropes for the descent. We should be very careful in these areas. But while facing southward from the east, we will find less snow and much more warmth from the sun. Chukung will be our ultimate camping destination for the day.

Day 48: Chhukhung- Kongmala, 5535m- Lobuche 4930m, 5-7 hours

An early start with morning breakfast, then we head not only to Kongma La but we make a long descent to reach Lobuche. Proceeding forward we come across a crest and an old lateral moraine before we initiate to pass the rocky scramble. After the pass, we come to this supreme sight of the Rolwaling valley in the west and Ama Dablam in the southeast. The descent is straightforward from the pass as it comprises the crossing of a tiny glacier and which is often wrapped in the snow. The ravishing sight of Ama Dablam with the forbidding north face of Cholatse can be perceived as we go downward to the pastures below. The trail to Lobuche outlines the grassy inclination above the lake, Tshola Tsho to combine with the primary Everest track from Tengboche and Periche. The path flattens following the west side of Khumbu glacier valley to Lobuche.

Day 49: Lobuche- Dzongla ‎5,420 m, 5 hours trekking

Today, we will be heading towards Dzongla which is situated at an elevation of 5,420 meters. It is likely to take us about five hours of walk to reach Dzongla which will be our camping destination for the day. We can get the glorious glimpse of Ama Dablam as we make the way to our destination. We will be catching the off beaten track as we extend our trek further to Dzongla and will be leaving the main trail of the Everest region. We will be accompanied by the Khumbu Glacier along the way. We will be staying overnight at Dzongla.

Day 50: Dzongla- Cho La pass, 5,368m- Thangnka, 4,700m - 7 hrs walk

Today we will be going to Thangnka situated at 4,700 meters with seven hours of a total walk after a lovely breakfast at Dzongla. In the middle, we will be moving through the amazing Cho La pass situated at 5,368 meters in height. It’s going to be a tiring yet rewarding day and we will be staying overnight at Thangnka.

Day 51: Thangnaka- Gokyo, 4,750m, 3 hours

On the fiftyth day, we will be moving to Gokyo as the trail starts moving towards the Ngozumpa glacier. The day brings the mesmerizing existence of Gokyo Lake as we further head for Gokyo Village situated at a great height of 4,750 meters which is likely to take us 3 hours.

Day 52: Gokyo- Gokyo Ri, 5483m

Today, we will be leaving Gokyo and moving towards Gokyo Ri. It is likely to take us about two hours of ascent but all the tiredness vanishes as we encounter the spectacular view of various peaks above 8000 meters. We will be surrounded by glorious peaks such as Gyangchung Kang (7922m), Lhotse (8501m), Makalu (8475m), Cholatse, Cho Oyo s(8153m), Mt. Everest(8848m). Similarly, Ngozumba Glacier extends its beauty just below the ascent, making this day even more amazing. We will be camping around Gokyo Ri in favorable conditions.

Day 53: Gokyo- Renjo Pass, 5354m– Lungden, 4,500m, 7 hrs

From Gokyo Ri, we will be heading towards Lungden where we will be camping for the night at an elevation of 4,400 meters. The trail takes us through the Gokyo lakes leading us to Renjo la pass which stands proudly at an altitude of 5354 meters. Then from the pass, we descend down to Lungden where we will be staying overnight.

Today, we will be heading forward to Thame from Lungden. The sole purpose of heading to Thame is to descend towards Lukla. We will be catching our flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. We will be going through various Sherpa Villages and camps at Thame which is filled with beautiful cultural essence and incredible monasteries.

Day 58: Cave camp- Trakarding Glacier, 4735m, 8 hours

Today, we will be making our way towards Trakarding Glacier through Tashi Labsta (5760m) which is likely to take us about eight hours of walk. So we will need to start the trek very early in the morning from the cave camp. The hardship of the path depends more upon the weather and snow conditions rather than the trail itself. If we are lucky, there won’t be much trouble reaching the beautiful Glacier. We climb through various iced gullies and boulders. However, we will be camping at Trakarding Glacier for the night.

We will be camping at the top of the village from where we can enjoy a beautiful sunset and wake up to a beautiful sunrise. Simigaon is wonderfully filled with fields of wheat, barley, and other crops making agriculture and animal husbandry the main occupation of the locals. Our overnight stay at Simigaon will certainly fill us with freshness and wonders.

We will trek from Bigu Gompa community or Monastery along with the remote towns, waterway valley with suspension connect crossing. Pursuing the Buddhist strides and numerous little Chorten we reach Dolangsa town by means ofTinsang-La pass. Then we continue our trek along the wilderness, extraordinary perspective on Mt. Gauri Shankar Mountain extend, remain close by Sherpa town.

After having lunch we will drive to the Last resort enjoying and exploring the surrounding along the way. We will also visit the famous Bunge jumping site and spend our overnight in the resort.

For the most part, the path we walk today lies in the rhododendron woods alongside the go with Juniper, oak, and pine woodland. After a long walk, we can see a portion of the places of the travelers for the migrating cattle herders.

Today, you should go through rough slopes and rhododendron woodlands. The perspectives are awesome in a clear climate. There is a little stone house above Nasem Pati that worked for travelers and very much trodden trails that lead off the edge peak to both east and west. There is no running water here likewise in the spring. We need to stroll the upslope until we reach Nasem Pati. In transit, you can see the backwoods with perspectives on Jugal Himal Range, Gaurishanker Himal, Mountain deer, and Danfe. Upon landing in Nasem Pati, start planning for camping overnight.

The day can be a little challenging yet equally rewarding with the magical views of Dorje Lakpa and Langshisa Ri. We will be staying overnight at Kyanjing Gompa.

Gatlang is our destination for the day which will take us about four hours walk as we make our way to the Annapurna and Manaslu region. We will be staying at Gatlang for the night.

We will be camping at Tipling for the night before we head towards Lapa Khola.

Today, we will be facing some minor ascent and descent as we make our way towards the upstream. It is likely to take us about four hours to reach Philim which is going to be our camping spot for the day. We will be extending our steps towards an altitude of 1570 meters, passing through various tributaries along the way. We will be camping beside a river in Philim.

Day 91: Philim- Deng, 1860m, 5-6 hours

We will be heading towards Deng after a wonderful stay at Philim. On this day, we will be skirting around narrow paths as we climb above the river. We will be walking through forests of pine and rhododendrons and follow the lower trail. After about five to six hours of walk, we finally reach our camping point which is an hour away from Deng. We stay here for the night.

Day 92: Deng– Namrung, 2630m, 7-8 hours

From Deng, we head towards Namrung early in the morning as it is likely to take us about seven to eight hours to reach there. We will be seeing distinctive signs of Tibetan territory as we descend through the suspension bridge after a short initial climb from Deng. We will be passing through several villages on the way and stopping at the Village of Ghap for lunch. On the way, we will get to enjoy the magnificent sight of Shringi Himal as we continue through the bank of the Budi Gandaki River. We will be reaching Namrung after crossing a dense forest filled with birch and pine. We will settle our camp at Namrung for the night.

Day 93: Namrung– Shyala, 3520m

Shyala is the camping point which we will be reaching for. We will have to walk for about six hours to get there from Namrung. The trek starts by descending down to cross the beautiful Damonan Khola followed by a climb leading us through beautiful forests and Tibetan Villages. We might be able to see yak caravans on our way. Shyala is our final destination where we will be camping for the night.

Day 94: Shyala– Samdo, 3875m

We leave Shyala as we head towards Samdo which is situated at an altitude of 3875 meters. We will be going through some glacial moraine as we immerse ourselves in the wilderness. On our way to Samdo, we will be stunned by the incredible sight of Manaslu peak. Samdo is a small Tibetan refugee village where we will be camping for the night.

Day 95: Rest day

Our ninety-two day is separated for resting as we will be facing an extreme change of elevation on our way to Larkye Base camp. We need to prepare ourselves for any challenges coming our way. So we will be staying at Samdo for another night.

Day 96: Samdo- Larkye Base Camp, 4460m, 4 hours

About four hours of walk from the beautiful Tibetan village Samdo will take us to Larkye Base Camp situated at an altitude of 4460 meters. We will be crossing some streams on our way to Larkye Base camp followed by a climb as we go around the Sarka Khola. We will be camping at the base of Larkye Pass for the night.

Day 97: Larkye La– Bimtang, 3590m, 8-10 hours

Crossing the Larke La pass, we will be heading towards Bimtang which is our camping destination for the day. It will approximately take us about eight to ten hours to reach Bimtang. Situated at an altitude of 3590 meters, we will be facing a lot of ascents on our way to Bimtang. We will get to see an amazing glimpse of Larkye la peak, Himlung Himal (7126m), Chap Himal, Gyaji Kang, Kang Guru (6981m), and Annapurna II (7937m) on our way to Bimtang. We need to be very careful with the icy trails and thus, our walks will be slower than usual taking us quite a long time to reach Bimtang. We will be camping for the night at Bimtang.

Day 98: Bimtang- Dharapani, 1865m, 7 hours

From Bimtang, we will be moving towards Dharapani on our Ninety-five day of the trek. It is likely to take us about seven hours of walking with some ups and downs along the way. We will be following the Marsyangdi Downstream as a part of our trail. Along the way, we will find ourselves in the beautiful forest of pine and rhododendron. After reaching Dharapani, we will be settling our camp for the night.

As we mark the hundredth day of our amazing trek, we will be heading towards an altitude of 2675 meters where Khodo resides beautifully. Khodo is our camping destination for the day. We will finally be crossing the Manaslu region and extending our trek towards the beautiful Annapurna region. We will be crossing various steep paths consisting of streamed and forest ridges. Many villages will fall on our way to Khodo. It will approximately take us about six hours to reach there. We will be camping at Khodo for the night.

We will be facing some uphill as we trek through the beautiful Annapurna Circuit. We will be staying at Pisang for the night.

Walking through some steep ascents, we reach Manang after about four hours. We will be leaving Pisan after an early morning breakfast and head towards Manang which is situated at an elevation of 3540 meters. Our camping point is about forty minutes away from Manang’s airstrip at Hongde. We will be spending our night at Manang.

From Yak Kharka, we will head towards Thorong High Camp which is likely to take us about six hours. It will involve a short trek but it is a challenging one. We will be crossing Jorsang Khola through a small bridge above the waters and make our way to the foot of Throng La pass where we will find some tea houses. We will be camping for the night at Thorong High Camp before making our way towards Muktinath.

We will stay overnight at Muktinath.

After taking enough rest at Muktinath, we will be heading towards Goat Kharka which is likely to take us about six hours of walk. After reaching the valley of Kaligandaki, we will be taking a shorter route which will lead our way to Goat Kharka. We will be going through small villages where we will get to observe the existence of Old Gompas and the amazing remains of some ancient forts. We will be following the main trail leading to Kharka after proceeding through a suspension bridge that crosses our way, as we reach Kagbeni. We will be camping at goat Kharka for the night.

Day 107: Goat kharka– Santa, 3778m, 7 hours

From Goat Kharka, we will be making our way to Santa which stands at an altitude of 3778 meters taking us about seven hours to reach the destination. This day can prove to be a little challenging as we will be going through two passes, one of which is Bhima Lojun la pass (4460m). We will be crossing various gullies and making our way through the caves. A descent will follow us after crossing our second pass taking us into a large ravine and then to a scree slope leading us finally to Santa. We will be camping for the night at Santa.

Similarly, we will be reaching our campsite after crossing a steep gully. We will be camping in the Juniper forest as we get to Ghalden Ghuldun Khola.

It is a short trek but it can be a little challenging with some ups and downs along the trails. We will be camping at Lalinawar Khola for the night before heading towards Nulungsunda Kharka.

Today, we will be following the trails to Nulungsunda Kharka which will take us through two passes above 5000 meters. One is Jungben La and the other is Niwas la. We will be rewarded with magnificent views of the hidden valley in the south and the Dhaulagiri peak from the top of Jungben La pass. Then a descent will take us to Nulungsunda Kharka where we’ll be camping for the night.

After heading west from Chharka Bot, it is likely to take us about seven hours to reach Chap Chu. Crossing some small Tributaries and some stepping stones, we will make our way towards Chap Chu. We will be camping for the night at Chap Chu.

Day 114: Chap Chu– Maran, 4350m, 8 hours

We will be moving towards Maran after having a lovely breakfast at Chap Chu. We will cross the Chan la pass(538m) on our way to Maran. Crossing the pass is not that strenuous, so we will easily be able to get through it. We will be blessed with the gorgeous scenarios of the Himalayas from the top. We will be ascending through some ridges making our way to Chortens which will then lead us to Tarpi Khola valley. Finally, after stepping on Maran, we will be settling our camp for the night.

Day 115: Maran– Nungmala Base Camp, 4440m, 6 hours

The path can be a little tiring but equally worth it as we reach Nungmala base Camp. We will be surrounded by the glorious views of snowcapped mountain peaks which will definitely leave us stunned. We will settle our camp in the most suitable area around the Base camp.

Situated at an elevation of 3900 meters, Temche will be our camping destination for the day.

On our way to the camping site at Kangmara pass, we will be crossing Kangmara La at an elevation of 5115 meters. As we climb our way to the top of Kangmara la, we will be rewarded with stunning scenarios of landscapes, valleys, and the Kanjirowa Himalayan range. We will be settling our camp for the night at Kagmara La Pass.

We will pass through some ups and downs on our way to Khaligaon and settle our camp at Khaligaon for the night.

Day 130: Bulbule- Rara Lake, 3010m

Today will prove to be one of the most beautiful days of the trek as we make our way towards the biggest lake of Nepal known as Rara Lake. The shining blue waters of Rara Lake will leave us stunned with its magnificent beauty. The lake falls under Rara national park and is surrounded by beautiful trees. If we are lucky, we will closely get to observe the wildlife in the region like musk deer, snow leopard, Ghoral. We will be camping around the skirts of Rara Lake for the night at an elevation of 3010 meters.

We will be descending to a small river and make our way through pine forests before reaching Bam. Then we will be camping at Bam for our overnight stay.

On our way to Piplan, we can certainly enjoy the view of Rimi village and some valleys. We will be passing through different villages and schools before finally reaching Piplan. Following various ups and downs, we will be climbing through Puma village before getting through pine forests finally reaching Apsia Lekh. We will be camping here for our overnight stay.

After walking for about six hours from Punkha Khola, we will reach River camp. We will be climbing through steep paths leading to a Kharka. We will probably be climbing more than four thousand meters today which will then be followed by a downhill descent to Yanchu Khola. We will be staying at the River Camp for the night.

Simikot is our camping point for the day. We will be moving towards Simikot after early morning breakfast at River Camp. Kudila Kola valley will fall on the way as we further head towards Simikot. We find some tea shops and a bridge made of metal on our way to Simikot. We will stay here at Simikot for the night.

We will be climbing some ridges, make our way through various fields of potatoes, wheat. and go through some beautiful villages while on our way to Kermu. We will be camping at Kermu for the night.

Day 140: Kernu– Shinjungma 6-7 hours

Today we will be heading for Shinjungma which will be taking us about six to seven hours of walk from Kernu. We get off the main trail following the remote path towards Shinjungma. We will be camping at Shinjungma for our overnight stay.

Day 141: Shinjungma- Talung 4380m 6-7 hours

After having early morning breakfast at Shinjungma, we will be making our way towards Talung which is situated at an elevation of 4380 meters. It will take us about six to seven hours of walking from Shinjungma. We will be extending our steps towards the Tibetan border in order to reach Talung. It will be our camping destination for the day.

Day 142: Talung- Jang 3990m 6-7 hours

Today, we will be walking for about six to seven hours to reach Jang from Tulung. We will have our energizing breakfast at Talung and leave for an elevation of 3990 meters. Along the way, we will be rewarded with glimpses of some peaks above 5000 meters. We will stay at Jang for the night.

Day 143: Return to Hilsa 2300m

On the one hundred fortieth days of our great trek, we will be doing a return trek to Hilsa. It indeed marks the upcoming end of this amazing adventure. We will follow the trails down the border to reach our destination. We have an overnight stay at Hilsa.

Day 145: Trek to the end of Great Himalayan Trail

This will be our final trek of the Great Himalayan Trail traverse. We will be trekking across the endpoint of the Great Himalayan trails.

Day 146: Drive Kermu 2300m

After a long trek, we finally hop into a jeep to reach our next destination. Kernu will be our final destination for the day situated at an elevation of 2300 meters. We will stay overnight at Kernu.

Day 147: Kermu- Simikot

From Kernu, we will be heading towards Simikot. After reaching there, we will certainly be celebrating your huge achievement with some delicious dinner while sharing the stories of this incredible adventure.

Day 148: Fly Simikot- Nepalgunj- Kathmandu, 1330m

Finally, we catch our flight to Nepalgunj from Simikot and on the same day, we will be catching our flight to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj. It is surely going to be a flight filled with pride as we fly over the beautiful forests while enjoying the scenarios created by magnificent peaks. We will be having our dinner in Kathmandu and celebrating the accomplishment of this great adventure.
