Everest Region (Khumbu Area)

Required Permits:

Sagarmatha National Park Permit
This permit is required to enter Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fee contributes to environmental conservation, wildlife protection, and maintenance of trekking trails in the Everest region.

Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit
This is a local government permit introduced to replace TIMS in the Everest region. The collected fees are used for local infrastructure development, trail maintenance, and community support within the Khumbu area.

TIMS Card (if applicable)
The Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card helps authorities track trekkers for safety and emergency rescue purposes, though it is often replaced by the local permit in this region.


Annapurna Region

Required Permits:

Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
This permit allows entry into Annapurna Conservation Area, Nepal’s largest protected region. The fee supports conservation projects, sustainable tourism, and local community development initiatives.

TIMS Card
Used for tracking trekkers and ensuring safety, especially in busy routes like Annapurna Base Camp and Circuit.


Langtang Region

Required Permits:

Langtang National Park Permit
Required to enter Langtang National Park, this permit helps preserve biodiversity, forests, and wildlife in the region.

TIMS Card
Ensures trekker safety and helps authorities maintain records for rescue operations if needed.


Manaslu Region (Restricted Area)

Required Permits:

Restricted Area Permit (RAP)
This special permit is required for entering restricted zones like Manaslu Region. It helps regulate tourism in culturally sensitive and remote areas, limiting the number of trekkers and preserving local traditions.

Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP)
This permit supports conservation efforts and sustainable tourism development in the Manaslu region.

Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
Needed if your trek exits through the Annapurna region, ensuring continued access across conservation zones.

Upper Mustang (Restricted Area)

Required Permits:

Restricted Area Permit (RAP)
This high-cost permit controls access to Upper Mustang, a culturally preserved Tibetan-influenced region. It limits visitor numbers and helps protect ancient traditions and heritage.

Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
Required as Upper Mustang lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area, supporting environmental conservation.


Upper Dolpo Region (Restricted Area)

Shey Phoksundo National Park Permit

Lower Dolpo Region
