Chisapani Nagarkot Trek – 3 Days
Introduction
The Stunning Chisapani Nagarkot Trek – 3 Days Adventure is one of the best short treks near Kathmandu. Organized professionally by ART Nepal Treks & Expedition, this trek is perfect for travelers who want to experience the beauty of the Himalayas without going too far from the capital city.
This trek takes you through the peaceful hills north of Kathmandu, inside the beautiful Shivapuri National Park. The route connects charming villages, green forests, terraced farmland, and scenic ridgelines. Within just three days, you will enjoy mountain views, village life, and refreshing nature walks.
The trek begins with a short drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal. From there, the journey continues uphill through forests and stone steps leading toward Chisapani. As you walk, the busy noise of the city slowly disappears and is replaced by birdsong, fresh air, and quiet trails.
On the second day, you walk along beautiful ridges toward Nagarkot, one of the most famous viewpoints near Kathmandu. Nagarkot is well known for its sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas. On clear days, you can even see Mount Everest in the distance.
The final day takes you downhill to the historic temple of Changunarayan Temple, one of the oldest temples in Nepal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After exploring the temple area, you drive back to Kathmandu.
This trek is designed for all age groups and fitness levels. It is ideal for beginners, families, students, and travelers with limited time. Even though it is short and easy, it offers a complete Himalayan experience — nature, mountains, culture, and relaxation.

Best Season to Trek
Spring (April to June)
Spring is one of the most beautiful seasons for this trek. The weather is warm and pleasant during the daytime, while mornings and evenings are slightly cool. The forests bloom with colorful rhododendron flowers, making the trail very attractive.
Mountain views are usually clear in the morning, and the sky is bright blue. This season is perfect for photography and nature lovers.
Autumn (September to November)
Autumn is considered the best trekking season in Nepal. After the monsoon rain, the air becomes clean and fresh. The sky remains clear, and mountain views are very sharp.
Temperatures are moderate and comfortable for walking. This season is also festive in Nepal, so trekkers may experience local festivals and cultural celebrations.
Winter (December to February)
Winter brings colder temperatures, especially in the early morning and night. However, the days are usually sunny and clear.
The trails are quiet and less crowded. If you enjoy peaceful trekking and do not mind the cold, winter can be a good option.
Monsoon (June to August)
Monsoon season brings heavy rainfall. The trails can become muddy and slippery. Mountain views may be blocked by clouds.
Although the hills turn very green and fresh, trekking during monsoon is generally not recommended due to weather uncertainty.
