Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative from ART Nepal Treks & Expedition will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel, the vibrant tourist hub of Kathmandu. The day is reserved for relaxation and acclimatization after your flight. You can explore the bustling streets of Thamel, filled with shops, cafes, and souvenir stores. In the evening, you will meet your trek guide for a pre-trek briefing, discussing the route, safety precautions, and final gear arrangements. This preparation ensures a smooth start to your adventure.
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 7–8 hours from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of your trek. The journey takes you through beautiful terraced fields, small villages, rivers, and hillsides, offering your first glimpses of the Himalayan range including Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Annapurna peaks. Upon arrival, settle into a cozy teahouse and take a short walk around the village, exploring local shops and observing traditional Tamang culture. This day helps you adjust gradually to higher altitudes while enjoying Nepal’s countryside scenery.
The trek begins with a gentle ascent along the Bhote Koshi River, passing small streams, suspension bridges, and forests of oak and pine. You may visit Guru Rinpoche Gomba, a small monastery nestled in the hills. The path gradually climbs to Bamboo before reaching Lama Hotel, a small settlement with guesthouses and spectacular views of Langtang Lirung. On the way, you will notice glaciers and snow-capped peaks of Kimshug and Langtang Lirung, providing stunning photo opportunities. This is an acclimatization day allowing you to adjust to high altitudes. You can hike to Tserko Ri (4984m) or Kyanjin Ri (4773m) for panoramic views of the Langtang valley, glaciers, and snow-capped peaks. The hike is moderately challenging but highly rewarding for photography enthusiasts and adventure seekers. Return to the lodge and enjoy time interacting with locals or resting in preparation for tomorrow’s high pass crossing.
Trekking towards Nyengang Kharka, you will cross small streams, sparse forests, and alpine meadows. The trail is steep at points but offers uninterrupted views of Langtang Lirung glacier and surrounding peaks. Nyengang Kharka is a remote high-altitude pasture where tented camp accommodation is used. This area provides a sense of isolation and tranquility, with snow-capped peaks towering around you.
Today is the highlight of the trek, crossing Ganja La Pass (5130m). The trail is snow-covered at times and physically demanding. Trekking early in the morning provides clear skies and spectacular mountain panoramas. After reaching the pass, descend to Keldang for the night. A gentler descent today brings you through alpine meadows, ridgelines, and sparse forests. Dhukpa is a summer village used by locals for grazing, and you will camp overnight in tents. This segment is a welcome recovery after the high pass crossing, with magnificent views of Langtang peaks and glaciers.
Today’s trek begins descending through forests of pine and rhododendron along the Melamchi Khola river. Pass through a traditional Sherpa village, enjoying local culture and views of surrounding mountains. Reach Tarkeghyang, a quaint settlement where you will stay in a guesthouse. The descent allows your body to recover from high-altitude trekking.
A short and moderate trek today through streams, small villages, and rhododendron forests. Sermathang follows Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism traditions, with monasteries and cultural landmarks along the trail. Overnight in a lodge, enjoying local meals and warm hospitality.
Today marks a long descent to Melamchi Pul Bazar, passing rice terraces, farmland, and subtropical vegetation. Cross rivers and visit small villages like Kakani and Thimbu.
